Gary Bernklow
Gary Bernklow started his Scouting career in 1974 as a Cub Scout in Pack 39. He joined Troop 1 in 1976 after earning both the “Heavy Shoulder” and the Arrow of Light as a Webelo. As a Scout, Gary was a Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, eventually earning Eagle in 1984. He became an Assistant Scoutmaster in that same year, a position he has held now for 40 years. Gary still enjoys cooking pineapple-upside-down-cake in Dutch ovens over a fire and canoeing through challenging class 3 rips. Gary’s son, Connor, earned his Eagle with Troop 1 in 2018. Gary is also a 3-time TOSA Decathlon champion.
